Terms of Service

Welcome to JoinTheSplit. By using this platform, you agree to the following terms:

  1. Eligibility — Users must be 18 or older.
  2. Payment Processing — All payments are handled securely through Stripe. JoinTheSplit
    does not store card information.
  3. Charges — Participants authorize Stripe to process payments on their behalf.
  4. Refunds — Refunds follow the Refund Policy defined below.
  5. Installments — Installment schedules are automatically generated and must be paid by
    the due dates.
  6. Trip Fulfillment — Organizers are responsible for delivering the trip experience.
  7. Platform Access — JoinTheSplit may revoke access for misuse or fraud.
  8. Limitation of Liability — JoinTheSplit is not responsible for trip cancellations, travel
    issues, or disputes between organizers and participants.

Refund Policy

Participant Cancellations

  • Before Drop-Dead Date: 80% refund of total paid, minus processing fees.
  • After Drop-Dead Date: No refunds.

Organizer Cancellations

If the organizer cancels the trip, participants receive a refund of what they paid, minus Stripe
processing fees.

Processing Fees

Stripe fees are non-refundable.
Platform fees and communication fees are non-refundable.

Cancellation Policy

Participants may cancel at any time via the platform or by contacting support. Refunds follow the
Refund Policy above.
Trips may be canceled automatically if:

  • Minimum participant requirements are not met
  • Organizer does not complete payout setup
  • Payment failures exceed allowed limits

Privacy Policy

JoinTheSplit collects the following information:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Payment information (handled by Stripe)
  • Trip participation data

 

We use this information to:

  • Process payments
  • Send reminders
  • Manage trip membership
  • Support trip organizers
  • Maintain platform security

 

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties except Stripe for payment
processing or as required by law

Dispute Resolution

For payment-related disputes:

  • Contact us at info@jointhesplit.com
  • Stripe may independently investigate unauthorized transactions
  • For trip experience disputes, contact your organizer directly
